The Federal Communications Commission (FCC), which is the U.S. government's media regulator, is planning to completely scrap Obama-era rules protecting the idea that the internet should be an even playing field. Without these rules, the door is open for internet service providers like Verizon, AT&T, and Comcast to potentially favor or discriminate against certain content and services, accept money for preferential treatment, or even charge users more for better access.
Today, December 9th, Daily KOS News had this petition. An easy place to say NO. While this is not as good as calling, you have to at least do this much today.
A nice gift from John Oliver and Last Week Tonight. This link takes you direct to the FCC website where you can leave your opinion of billionaire corporations controlling what you see online. www.GoFCCyourself.com
I have a code that is in the html of this page. Iit causes the little popup window when the page opens. It is so easy to use, just insert it into the body tag somewhere: < script src="https://widget.battleforthenet.com/widget.js" async> I had to put two spaces into the code right after the < and right before the > tags. There should be no space between script and the <>.
If you also believe that billionaires don't need or deserve gifts from the rest of us, then you MUST shout about it! Call your senator and demand representation. Let the mega-wealthy work hard like the rest of us. Balance the budget on their backs not ours!
